Charlie's Angels Get Bowled Over

Charlie's Angels Get Bowled Over

Pontcanna Dental Care took part in the Denplan Bowling Tournament last night in Nantgarw, where the practice was split into two teams...  "Charlie's Angels" and "Alyn's Alley Cats".
Whilst the rest of the teams were playing for a place in the final in London, practice bragging rights was far more important to Pontcanna Dental Care.  Before the event, Charlie was sent out to muster up some pirate costumes but returned with eight shirts that must have come off the back off professional darter Wayne Mardle!

Once Charlie showed up fashionably late (as normal) after taking a wrong turn and turned up at the Cardiff Bay bowling arena rather than Nantgarw (there were whispers he was practicing down there all afternoon), the evening commenced.

Alyn and Charlie gave their teams their respective team talks... Alyn's based on "piling" into the other team and Charlie's based around putting the other team off with dirty, underhand tactics.  Alyn "All Or Nothing" Humphreys tried to use his raw power to smash down the pins, whilst Charlie "Steady Eddie" Stephanakis went for accuracy.  However both missed all the pins with their first ball!

Alyn's team made up of Grant "Blaster" Bignell, Cherry "Oh So Delicate" Oldridge and Jade "Sidewinder" Simmons knocked down the pins at a steady pace on Lane 22, whilst over in Lane 23 Charlie's team were struggling to cope with the humid conditions, leading to Charlie whipping off a layer of clothing.  His team made up of "Kingpin" Carly James, Eleanor "Strike" Swanton and "Lobber" Lyn Marshall carried him through the first game but was not enough to catch Alyn's Alley Cats.  The first game finished 308-302.

It was quite apparent that Alyn's Alley Cats were just getting warmed up and began picking up spares as if it were routine.  Meanwhile over in Lane 23 Charlie was doing his all to motivate his troops, often attracting glances from other lanes.  If anyone was in attendance with their eyes closed, then Charlie's team were walking this event.  Sadly, this was far from the truth!  The second game finished 353-296 which meant that Alyn took the series 2-0.
