NON-SURGICAL FACIAL AESTHETICS / WRINKLE REDUCTION

Wrinkle reducing treatments are injections to treat the frown lines on the forehead, between the eyebrows and the crow's feet around the eyes. A minute quantity of Botulinum Toxin, a safe-to use bacterial toxin is injected into the muscles that cause these dynamic lines. The injection temporarily prevents nerve signals from reaching the muscle and as a result the muscle relaxes and the lines and wrinkles become smoother and less pronounced.

These treatments are simple and effective with minimal swelling or redness and have a proven track record for effectiveness.  The procedure is painless and takes about 10 minutes. You would expect to see results in 4-7 days.  Botulinium Toxin A injections need to be repeated about every three months, as the Botulinium Toxin A is broken down by the body.  Wrinkle reducing injections and Dermal fillers can be combined to give a nonsurgical facelift.

The Dermal filler used at Pontcanna Dental Care is Restylane.  It can help with deep smile lines, smoker’s lines around the lips, cheek contour depressions and facial scars.

Dermal fillers can also be used to “plump up” the lips, giving them fullness.

Restylane is based on a degradable hyaluronic acid in the form of a clear gel.  This gel is injected into the skin to create volume, smooth out wrinkles and restore fullness to lips.  It also helps to rehydrate the skin.  Due to its degradable nature, dermal fillers also need to be injected regularly.

If the above methods are not for you then lip support can be improved with dentures or crowns and bridges.

The Botulinium Toxin A can also be used to reduce excess sweating from the hands and armpits.
